Concealed Carry Laws

First and foremost, its important to mention that conceal carry laws vary from state to state (if you reside in the U.S.).

Always comply with local laws regarding possession of firearm inside of a motor vehicle.

Lets take a look at best and the safest ways to conceal carry in a car.

Carry on Your Body

In my opinion, conceal carrying on your body while driving is the easiest way to conceal carry in a car.

It does not require you to purchase a safe, remove your gun from your body, or any special apparatus, you just need a good conceal carry holster.

Best Carry Position on Your Body

Appendix Carry

In my opinion, appendix carry is bar far the best carry position on your body while conceal carrying in a car.  It gives you quick access to your weapon and works well with the seat belt on.

However, digging can be a problem with AIWB, when you're seating in your seat.  I suggest you find a good hybrid holster with a soft sweat shield to reduce digging and increase comfort and try adjusting the can and ride height.

Hip Carry (3 or 4 O'clock position)

This is one of the oldest and most popular ways of carrying a gun.  If you're not a fan the appendix carry (or you're a lager individual) this might be your best option for conceal carrying on your body while in a car.

It still give you fairly quick access to your weapon, but don't forget to lean away from your gun to access it since the gun is tucked away behind you and your seat belt.

Try using the steering wheel to pull yourself away from the gun to access it.  Also, try seating on the passenger seat if right handed, this will make it easier for you to access your weapon.

Back Carry
I do not recommend back carry while you conceal carry inside of a car. This position makes it really hard for you to access you gun.

Accessing your gun from the back can be challenging while you are standing, therefore it will be much harder while your seating down in a cramped car with your seat belt on.

I would try to avoid this carry position

Vehicle Gun Safe

Safely lock your gun away inside of a gun safe.  They typically have a mechanical lock and are made from tough and durable materials.

They can be stored in various place inside of your car, but for quick access, we recommend placing them somewhere near the driver's seat.

However, unlocking a gun safe can be severely delayed, if you can't find the key or forgot the lock code.

We recommend you use the gun safe with a biometric lock, which typically uses your finger prints to unlock the gun safe.

This is the quickest way to access your weapon while using a safe.

Awesafe Gun Safe is the best fingerprint identification and biometric lock gun safe.
